Jiayi Liao (Joy Liao) is a master student in USTC, advised by Prof. Xiangnan He and Prof. Xiang Wang. She received her BEng degree in 2023 from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Her research interests currently focus on exploring the potential of Large Language Models in Recommender Systems. She is dedicated to creating a recommendation system, based on LLMs, that better understands users (including briding the gap between LLM-based and traditional recommenders, item indexing, personalized modeling for users’ preferences). Previously, she has explored the comprehension and expression of abstract concepts by LLMs in both text and vision modalities. Moreover, she have served as invited reviewer for top conferences (e.g., NIPS, ICLR, WWW) and journals (e.g., TOIS, TKDE, TKDD).
